Come to Goongerah for a laid-back gig with Dana Lyons including a slideshow by Pat Rasmussen from the World Temperate Rainforest Tour, and a delicious organic meal.

Cows with Guns

Dana Lyons is best known in Australia for his song "Cows with Guns" which made it to number 2 on the Australian country music charts. Now we have the chance to hear him play!

From his website:

"Dana Lyons has toured in 46 of the 50 American states, around the East Coast of Australia and across Ireland, England, New Zealand, Mexico, Kazahkstan and Siberia. Dana performs at festivals ranging from Farm Aid with Willie Nelson and Neil Young to the Harley Davidson Festival in Sturgis, South Dakota where he shared the stage with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steppenwolf, Nazareth and Blue Oyster Cult. His policy of “I’ll play anywhere once” has landed Dana gigs on a tropical island in the Great Barrier reef of Australia, an Irish Pub in Beijing and the Hanford Nuclear Waste Dump in his home state of Washington."

Temperate Rainforest Tour

Canada, United States, Australia, Japan, Chile

Info & Schedule (from their website)

Beginning in September 2006 and stretching into spring of 2007 Dana will tour with rainforest activist Pat Rasmussen on the west coast of Canada and the United States, the east coast of Australia, Japan and Chile.

Temperate rainforests are rare throughout the world and many are being logged at an alarming rate. Temperate (cool and rainy) rainforests can be found only on the west coast of North and South America (Chile, California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia & Alaska) and in Tasmania (Australia) [note - we also have them here in East Gippsland!] and New Zealand.

The purpose of this five country tour is to help unite the global temperate rainforest movement and to help educate folks around the world about temperate rainforests.
