Walk Against Woodchips

Walk Against Woodchips (WAW) is a national concept to be enacted in a series of walks at regional levels across Australia. Registered walkers will pass through forests, tourist destinations, and urban centres attracting media & educating the public about myths backing the woodchip industry.

WAW encourages involvement from groups and individuals across the community spectrum : anyone who opposes and/or has been adversely affected by woodchipping (that covers most Australians!).

The East Gippsland walk will start October 4th in Lakes Entrance and finish jointly with NSW walkers on October 10th 1999,@ Eden's Daishowa woodchip mill. A Bhuto performance is planned for the finale, to attract Japanese media.

Registered walkers (10-15) will host the entire route. Geco truck will proudly aid with support.
